Adoption at distance of abandoned olive trees in Tuscany /Italy

In a partnership with AgerOliva, the Steve Madden Foundation has agreed to underwrite the restoration of a grove of 1,000 olive trees in the City of Florence, in front of the Museo Leonardo Da Vinci. Restoring an ancient orchard such as this, is a pianstaking work and can take up to 7 years. Beyond its environmental value, the project also embraces the idea of second chances: Ager Oliva involves formerly incarcerated individuals in the ancient art of olive cultivation, helping them regain dignity, skills, and a path to reintegration through meaningful work. Our annual pledge of $35,000 to this project is in line with the many grants the Foundation makes globally, as part of our commitment to Biodiversity, Social Impact and Carbon Reduction. SMF seeks to identify initiatives which resonate with the brand’s values, and in communities where we conduct business. This olive grove will be a spiritual twin to our pocket forest in Mexico City, and to our educational programs in South Africa… along with the many other local and regional causes which we support.

Our Company have adopted at distance 1000 abandoned olive trees between Pistoia and Vinci in 2026, continuing the project started in 2025. We truly believe in such CSR projects and their high social and environmental projects od regenerative agriculture.
